It's back to school season and as someone who has benefitted from amazing teachers and mentors throughout my adolescence and adulthood, I figured I would dedicate my first official blog as Imani the Solutionist to some of the most impactful people in the world. Â
The joy and transformation that you bring to the lives of people of all ages really is hard to describe. Your impact is truthfully everlasting. Your decision to offer your time, money and energy is never wasted, but multiplied and alchemized into something dynamically awe- inspiring.
Your ability to share a lesson, take a moment, and give encouragement that then turns into an adult who believed they could take on the world because of your impact, doesn’t go unnoticed.Â
So, to every teacher that saw a chatty, intelligent, opinionated, charismatic little girl and believed in her:
To every teacher who decided to dedicate one year or ten years to invest in the heart and minds of our next generation.Â
To every teacher who brings snacks and extra food to school because you know that your students are struggling at home and they can’t focus on school work on an empty stomach.Â
To every teacher who has cried because you’re struggling to advocate for your students to a system that doesn’t care about them.Â
To every teacher who has had to bury a student and teach their classmates the next day.
To every teacher that has had to help a broken hearted student.
To every teacher who is helping another adult learn new things and conquer different obstacles. To every teacher that is helping those that were kept away from our world for sometime and is trying to get readjusted to all of the changes they see.Â
To every teacher who has had to reluctantly make a CPS call because you loved your student and also didn't want to lose them to the system.
To every teacher that has had to fight back tears as you let your students know that you were leaving.
To my favorite change agents, servant leaders and solutionists of all time…thank you.
